Something borrowed, something blue....

Do you ever stroll through the finer jewelry stores, the designer purse sections of a department store or even try on the amazing sunglasses that are sometimes just 'calling your name'? I don't know too many women who don't oogle at some of the designer accessories - and many who own at least one or two of the items.
But now, thanks to 'Bag, Borrow, or Steal' , you can actually "rent" luxury handbags, jewelry, and sunglasses for a week, a month or longer! When that particular Gucci bag bores you, send it back and try something new. They ask you to care for the items as though a good friend were loaning it to you.
I guess it's kind of like leasing a car (you drive it but it isn't actually yours) combined with getting a DVD in the mail that you watch as many times as you and then return it to it's rightful owner. The prices aren't inexpensive, but neither are the real things...right?
Oh. And the 'Steal' part of the company name allows you to purchase a piece if you absolutely can''t give up that latest little Kate Spade bag.

Peacetags

I have had the great joy and pleasure in getting to know Fredda Goldfarb this past year. I am honored to call her my friend. Fredda is nothing less than remarkable. Beautiful on the outside, beautiful on the inside, caring, compassionate, successful, thoughtful, gracious, and fun are just a few of the quick ways I would describe her.

Along with her family's stunning jewelery store (
Goldfarb Jewelers) in Seattle, Fredda works tirelessly on a number of philanthropic projects that make a difference in so many lives.

One of my favorites is her project called '
Peacetags'. Peacetags are sterling silver dog tags with various inscriptions about peace. Their mission is simple: "To ignite peace in our hearts, in our homes, and in our world through spreading words of peace".

All of the net profits from Peacetags go to help support our troops and their families.

So the next time you're looking for that perfect gift or perfect necklace to throw on, think about a Peacetag. In the great words of Walt Whitman, "Peace is always beautiful."

Bling! Bling!

The latest issue of Seattle Bride Magazine features some amazing photographs from some of the best Seattle photographers in the business. The one you see here however, feels more like a piece of art than a mere picture. Imagine my surprise when I saw it in the magazine and realized that it is my ring - from my own wedding photos!

My amazing husband has impeccable taste, don't you agree? Lucky me.

My sincere thanks to Janet Klinger for her amazing photographic work.
