Bravo, Microsoft!

For several years now, Good Taste Events has had the pleasure of working with Microsoft Corporation. This past week we were in Las Vegas with our friends at Microsoft. As you can see above, they have an amazing trade show booth that won (not surprisingly) the 'Best Large Booth' award at the NXTcomm 2008 convention. Bravo to their fabulous team and thanks for letting us play a small part in your success!

Happy Fathers Day

"When I was 14, my father was so ignorant I could hardly stand to have the old man around. But when I was 21, I was astounded at how much the old man had learned in 7 years."

Nice mail

How much fun is it to receive something other than bills in the mail? We loved getting this recent post card from our dear friend Nick Parrotta of NBP Productions in Las Vegas.
-
Nick and his team of talented professional provided amazing entertainment for a top-notch party we managed at Tryst nightclub at the beautiful Wynn hotel. The event was co-hosted by Microsoft and Ascent Media, and Good Taste Events was honored to be selected to manage it for such high profile clients.
-
What struck me most about getting this card, however was how easy it is to say 'thanks' to people we work with, work for, live by, etc. Nick probably took 3 minutes to jot this great note, spent .26 cents to throw a stamp on it and is now on my 'Wow! That's impressive!' list forever.
-
I think I'll take the time to follow Nick's lead and drop a few notes in the mail today. Just to say hi, I'm thinking of you, or thanks! I know I'll feel as good sending the notes as the recipients will when they find them in their mail box.

Peacetags

I have had the great joy and pleasure in getting to know Fredda Goldfarb this past year. I am honored to call her my friend. Fredda is nothing less than remarkable. Beautiful on the outside, beautiful on the inside, caring, compassionate, successful, thoughtful, gracious, and fun are just a few of the quick ways I would describe her.

Along with her family's stunning jewelery store (
Goldfarb Jewelers) in Seattle, Fredda works tirelessly on a number of philanthropic projects that make a difference in so many lives.

One of my favorites is her project called '
Peacetags'. Peacetags are sterling silver dog tags with various inscriptions about peace. Their mission is simple: "To ignite peace in our hearts, in our homes, and in our world through spreading words of peace".

All of the net profits from Peacetags go to help support our troops and their families.

So the next time you're looking for that perfect gift or perfect necklace to throw on, think about a Peacetag. In the great words of Walt Whitman, "Peace is always beautiful."

could it possibly be more beautiful than this?

This is stolen directly from my absolutely A#1 favorite wedding blog and site in the world. ... Junebug weddings. If you have not added it to your daily reads, you are truly mising some amazing inspiration and things that will make you smile as well as tug at your heart strings. We at Good Taste are so thrilled to be a part of it. The above wedding was especially amazing for us to be involved in. We started as clients and have become the very best of friends. This couple is truly so beautiful on the outside AND the inside - and obviously their amazing daughter Charlotte Grace is the same. I would have happily paid them fees just to be a part of it. Much love to you all. Here's the write up that Blair did (another superwoman in disguise!) ALSO, much overdue kudos to Kim and Adam Bamberg of La Vie Photography for their stunning work. Not just in this gorgeous wedding but everything they touch. Talk about love in action. Kim and Adam are the epitomy of that. xoxooxox
Today's Real Wedding took place last August at the beautiful Pacific Northwest destination, The Inn at Port Ludlow, and was the perfect reflection of everything this lovely couple holds dear. Just three months before the wedding, Diane and Mark's darling daughter Charlotte was born, so their marriage wasn't only about honoring the two of them, but celebrating their whole family. During the ceremony Mark held Charlotte (the "best baby") in his arms as Diane walked down the aisle, and as they all stood together at the alter there wasn't a dry eye in the house! Photographers Kim and Adam Bamberg from La Vie Photography captured all the action, and wedding coordinator extraordinaire, Jody from Good Taste Events, helped the new parents create a wedding that was a joy for all who attended. From the handmade favors of lip balm and soaps, to the apple harvest place cards and decor details in an ivory and champagne color palette, it was a stunningly beautiful and meaningful event

Sugar and spice and everything nice....

You know what a nut I am for including children in any wedding celebration. They bring such a sense of play and their giggles and laughter can be infectious.

And what is more precious than a little girl in a gorgeous flower girl dress? They transform into princesses right before your eyes. And the reward for you? Easy. You will look back at your pictures years from now and your heart will still flutter when you see those sweet little girls who got to be a princess for a day (along with the bride, of course).

These are just a sampling of the absolutely beautiful flower girl dresses from www.smithermanandbarnwell.com. They are simply stunning. Make your wedding as special for that little girl as it is for you. You'll reap your rewards for a lifetime.

Bon Appetit! Health Conscious Cookies

A couple of my dearest friends are avoiding gluten ... some for dieting particulars and others because of serious allergies. Regardless of the reason, I have learned that it can be extremely difficult for them to find delightful treats for themselves or for entertaining.

So, I was thrilled to see the following recent post by Wendy Wollenberg of BizBash. My friends have become experts in searching out wheat-free treasures. I hope this adds to their list of 'approved' goodies. Bon Appetit!

Whole Bakers owner Patty Stewart began her business for two reasons: to satisfy her sweet tooth and to work around her allergy to gluten, a protein found in oats and wheat. Her gluten-free line of cookies includes all-natural ingredients such as dark chocolate, goji berries, and coconut flour. Varieties include Sugar Drop, Ginger Joy, and Rockin’ Choco Chip cookies, which come in packs of two, six, or 12 and retail from $2.95 to $16.75. A selection of gifts includes customizable holiday packages and the Ultimate Chicago Gift Box (samples of the entire Whole Bakers line), all of which can be shipped throughout the country.

simple, yet elegant

One of the most common requests we hear from clients when they describe their vision of their perfect day is "simple, yet elegant." We couldn't agree more with their wishes. It's amazing how lovely one type or color of flower can bring such beauty and life to a setting.

Sometimes less is truly more.

Bling! Bling!

The latest issue of Seattle Bride Magazine features some amazing photographs from some of the best Seattle photographers in the business. The one you see here however, feels more like a piece of art than a mere picture. Imagine my surprise when I saw it in the magazine and realized that it is my ring - from my own wedding photos!

My amazing husband has impeccable taste, don't you agree? Lucky me.

My sincere thanks to Janet Klinger for her amazing photographic work.

Happy Saint Patrick's Day!

'Tis like a morn in spring.
With a lilt of Irish laughter,
You can hear the angels sing."
